[above] In 1941 St. Philips in the Hills stood at the crossroads of River Road and Campbell Avenue. Designed by architect Josia Joesler for developer John Murphy, as a gateway structure for the emerging foothills estates being built along north Campbell.

[top right] By 1995 the area was a busy hub for established business centers and the many residences spreading well into the Catalina foothills.

[right] 2005 shows the addition of another new shopping and business center on the northwest corner as well as a major widening of the intersection.
