These photographs illustrate how Tucson underwent an incredible
transformation. The explosive growth rate in the 1940s and '50s
set into motion a rapidly changing backdrop for it’s people.
To some who were here during that boom, the photographs from the
book may evoke a memory of family or personal change. For those
who were not here then, perhaps a glimpse of that era can be as
evocative in seeing Tucson’s changes from a small western
town to a metropolis of nearly one million people . . . and growing. |
